1st Mosstodloch Scout Group

2011-11-13_13.06.44_800x600We consist of 1 Beaver Colony, 1 Cub pack, 1 Scout troop and 1  Explorer unit.

We are part of Moray district, which is organised under a district comissioner (D.C.) who is helped by assistant district comissioners for each of the sections (A.D.C. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers)

All the groups are run by warranted leaders who have undergone enhanced disclosure checks and training for their role.

We have a voluntary committee made up of parents who are elected annually at the annual general meeting. The committee are responsible for the upkeep of the hall and fundraising.

We prefer subs to be paid at the start of the term, however, if you prefer to pay weekly that is fine. In this case the full amount is due  for weeks where the child is absent, to cover capitation fees (see below). By choosing to pay termly there is a discount built in to the calculation.

football-s.gifWe have to pay a fee each year to the Scout Association for every member of the group (capitation). This is to cover insurance and the running of the National Scout Association. A portion of the money also goes towards the running of Moray area. Capitation is collected as a portion of the weekly subs.

When a child is old enough to move on to the next section they attend both their own meeting and the new meeting for 4 weeks. This is an important way of easing the transition and makes the move much less scary. Subs is only paid for the section that they are leaving.

There are forms available on this site to cover things such as registration, permission to camp, order uniform etc. These can be found in the downloads section of the home tab.

Lots of information can be found on www.scouts.org.uk covering things such as badge requirements and where badges go on the uniform.
